Overview

I am seeking to hire a professional assistant. The role is ideal for someone who is personally interested in my fields of practice and possesses a blend of strong technical, creative, communicative, and organizational skills.

This role is to help manage my digital presence, provide technical support, assist with strategic planning, and personal/professional logistics (e.g. travel booking).

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital and technical support: Manage website updates and iterative enhancements, ideally leveraging a basic understanding of HTML/CSS as well as graphic design software. Be able to learn & skillfully use a variety of web-based software and digital tools.
  • Content creation and branding: Help write and edit newsletters and social media posts, synthesizing and refining copy from collaborative written and/or voice notes. Also, maintain and refine our graphic identity.
  • Administrative support: Help with managing my booking calendar availability, email inboxes, administration for workshops and classes.
  • Strategic planning and implementation: Collaborate with me to develop strategic visions and plans, and serve as project manager to fulfill them.
  • Operational grace: Document and refine standard operating procedures, identifying ways to improve our workflows and processes. Stay abreast of digital tools and best practices while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with basic web technologies and graphic design software.
  • Ability to quickly and easily troubleshoot and learn digital tools e.g. by reading documentation, researching on the web, etc.
  • Experience with or a strong interest in the arts, movement practices, or related fields.
  • Excellent writing skill and good taste, capable of both independent content creation and collaborative editing.
  • Strategic thinking
  • Commitment to continuous learning, especially regarding digital technologies and tools like generative AI.
  • Ideally located in the Americas for time zone alignment; the work will be primarily asynchronous, with meetings scheduled as needed.
