Falling Into Spring
While in Brazil, I had the great pleasure of going to several different ‘cachoeiras‘ (waterfalls). One was on a steep rock, with pools that caught the falling water. I played and danced in those pools and on that cascading rock, as the water fell all around. I felt like a delighted child at her favorite playground. I managed to dance and roll in the sun for enough time to get totally sunburned. Yet I wouldn’t change a thing.
Other waterfalls I encountered were so strong that I had to plan my way in, so as not to get swept away or crushed. These falls inspired prayer: deliberate intention and focus. This water somehow washed my spirit. Each visit to the waterfall left me feeling lighter. I don't know exactly how it works, but I recommend it to you all.
Let the water clear you of what is stuck. Whether it be through levity and play, or focused prayer, the falling water will move you and help move what is within. Try it, and let me know when we next meet.
